Residence Permits for employees in the UAE will be issued for a maximum of 2 years. Instead of 3 years, which was previously the case in many free zones across the country. These changes have already been announced by several free zones, such as DMCC and DDA. Notifying companies that all visa applications, new and renewals alike, will be converted to 2 years. This is accordance with the new executive regulations No.65 of 2022, to the UAE Immigration Law No. 29 of 2021. And, specifically Articles 38 of that the Regulations. Which came into effect on October 3, 2022.
